Volunteering Fairs (7, 11 Oct 2016)
In October, Project Officers for the British Chinese Armed Forces Heritage Project (BCAFH) attended two volunteering fairs at UCL and Imperial College London with the aim of attracting motivated students to the community of volunteers already at the Ming Ai Institute.
Today's students are increasingly aware of the importance of having solid work experience under their belt before entering the competitive graduate workforce and this was reflected in the large number of students who attended both fairs.
Volunteers at the Ming Ai Institue are given the opportunity to work both onsite and remotely with flexible hours that fit around their individual schedules at university which is appreciated by students no matter what stage of their degree they are at. Students at both Imperial and UCL were interested in the opportunities at Ming Ai because it gives them the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of tasks depending on their area of iinterest as well as attending professional training sessions also attended by Ming AI staff. Upcoming training sessions in October that these volunteers can sign up for include Audio-Visual training and Video Editing sessions.
At the end of both fairs, a large number of students had registered to be part of the BACFH volunteer database and we look forward to working with them all in the future!
