Our Good Fortune (12 Jan - 5 Jul 2015)

P1620800 280x210Our Good Fortune: Histories of working lives of the Chinese in Haringey exhibition explores the traces of Chinese people's history in the London borough of Haringey ad well as the experiences of the borough's Chinese community today. The exhibition features archive materials from the museum's collection, including ceramics and textiles, as well as profiles of project interviewees and objects collected from the Haringey Chinese Centre.

The exhibition was opened to the public on Saturday 10th January 2015 by Cllr Mayor Kaushika Amin and Cllr Jason Arthur of Haringey Council, Deborah Hedgecock, Curator of Bruce Castle Museum and Chungwen Li, Dean of Ming-Ai (London) Institute. Over 70 guests attended the opening including several project interviewees who we able to see their objects and pictures in the exhibition. Guests enjoyed tea and cakes accompanied by the music of project interviewee: local musician and composer, Liz Liew.
