Memories of China (17 Jan - 17 May 2015)
This exhibition exploring the lives and experiences of Chinese migrants in the UK in the early 20th century, and their relationship with their homeland. It will feature a display of lanterns by contemporary British Chinese artists Qi Qing and Marina Chan as well as objects from project interviewees and a selection of Qing dynasty paintings from the Horniman's collection.
The exhibition was opened to the public on Thursday 15th January 2015 by Janet Vitmayer, Chief Executive, Horniman Museum; Rachel Hasted, Heritage Lottery Fund; and Chungwen Li, Dean of Ming-Ai (London) Institute. Over 100 guests attended the opening including several project interviewees who we able to see their objects and pictures in the exhibition. Guests enjoyed traditional Dim Sum courtesy of The Good Earth.

A day of actiities and fun for all the family including ArtBurst's recycled sheep; making a wishing charms to hang on our wishing tree for Chinese New Year and other arts and craft activities.
