Kwai Ming Ng was born in Hong Kong in 1959. He was enlisted in 1978 and served for 12 years.
When he completed the military training as a recruit, he first served as a regimental policeman in the Dragon Company, during which he was sent for sentry duty at different barracks including the British Military Hospital, Commander of the British Forces Residence and the borderline with China. He also took part in tasks such as trenches digging and jungle combat training, etc.
He retired from the army in 1990. Before full retirement he joined the rehabilitation course provided by the army, an opportunity for him to be trained as a butcher in England.
