Ping Keung Cheng was born in 1972 in Hong Kong. He was enlisted in 1991 and had served for six years.
After completing his military training as a recruit, Cheng took on sentry duty at different barracks. His responsibilities were to guard the main entrance of the barrack and to maintain the security within barracks that included Osborn Camp, Kowloon Tong, Shek Kong Barrack, New Territory, Gun Club Hill Barrack, Tsim Sha Tsui, and HMS Tamar, the Hong Kong Headquarter, etc. He was also a member of the ceremonial guard in which he performed at many formal occasions and celebrations.
Cheng retired from the army in 1997 due to the transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong to China. After he left. he temporarily worked as a repairman for the fire safety facility. Now he works in property management sector.
