Virginia Au has a background in accountancy and is now retired. She has been working at Wai Yin Society (previously called Wai Yin Chinese Women's Society) for many years. She is currently Treasurer at the organisation, looking after the funds that are granted from different sources.
Win Yin Society was established in 1988 to provide support for Chinese women in Manchester. The organisation now provides a large scope of services for the elderly and families; including language, computer and employment courses. The service users of Wai Yin come from diverse backgrounds and all ethnicities.
Virginia also spends her time volunteering at a local church helping them with their finance. She also takes part in home-visits in Manchester to support families and elderly people in their day-to-day lives. Virginia has learnt the importance of being kind and helpful from her father, she loves to work with people.
